Publisher Description
Take a walk into the wild unknown with Ashlyn Chase and a steamy paranormal romance that has everything you need for a perfect enemies-to-lovers romp:A feisty dragon shifter heroine who hides in plain sight as a firefighter
•A fiery phoenix shifter hero determined to prove himself
•A competition that will leave them both breathlessWhen two shifters apply for the same position in the Boston fire department, it's a foregone conclusion that sparks will fly…
Dragon shifter Chloe Arish is hell-bent on becoming a Boston firefighter. She uses her Irish charm to score an interview, but that's only the beginning. She knows she has to work every bit as hard as a man to make the team—harder if she wants their respect. But she's got the heart of a dragon, and nothing is going to stand in her way.
Born into a legendary Boston firefighting family, phoenix shifter Ryan Fierro can't possibly let someone best him on the training course or the job. He'd never hear the end of it. When Chloe comes along determined to do just that, Ryan plots to win at any cost—until their sizzling chemistry turns explosive…
PUBLISHERS WEEKLY
Two candidates vie for one Boston firefighting job in Chase's flimsy second Boston Dragon paranormal romance. Chloe Arish is a 1,000-year-old Irish dragon; Ryan Fierro is a 40-year-old phoenix from a large family of Italian firefighters. It's love and hate at first sight, but after both are hired for the job they thought they were competing for, rivalry slowly turns to love. Neither knows of the existence of the other's species, a mutual obliviousness that Chase harps on to the point of cruelty. Chloe and Ryan make a cute couple, surrounded by loving and occasionally overbearing neighbors and family, but only Chloe's personality sizzles. Lively and fun love scenes contribute to an overall lightness in tone, but Chloe's virgin status, while explained away, is both baffling given her age and extraneous to a modern story line. And while many will appreciate the author's deft hand with humor, the lack of character development hampers the story.
Customer Reviews
A wonderfully light and fun read, sure to bring a smile.
The Boston Fire Department has a long and storied history (as many do) with generations of family signing up to fight fires in their community. In this story, two recruits are competing for a single position, but both of these recruits bring something special (and secret) to the table.
Chloe Arish is a Dragon shifter, so determined to win the position and get the gear that she faked documents and is ready to work twice as hard as any man to achieve her goal. Stubborn, competitive, determined and wholly her own person, the BFD will have a hard time finding anyone more suited to the position.
Unless you look at legacy recruit Ryan Fiero, with a family of noted firemen and the ability to rise from the flames as he’s a Phoenix shifter. Ryan’s everything the department is looking for, he knows the expectations, he is physically capable and born to the job.
But, both are hired and passed into the ranks…do they dare share the secrets that make them so perfect for the position? SUCH a fun and funny story, with Ryan being all alpha-male with a touch of chauvinist, finding himself in need of saving by Chloe – the one person he had decided (in his own head) he needed to watch out for.
Oh they are delicious together and their connection sparks off the pages: this is not a slow-burner, both Ryan and Chloe jump off the pages and grab your attention, and just may scald you in the process in the best possible ways. Especially when Chloe loses all patience with what she sees as overbearing behavior and checks his attitude and actions with moves of her own. A wonderfully light and fun read, sure to bring a smile.

Too much promise
After reading this book I felt like it promised a lot in aspects of romance, passion and comedy and it simply fell flat. 2 stars = I could finish it .
flat out fun
A dragon shifter, Chloe, and a phoenix shifter, Ryan, both want the newest opening on the Boston Fire Department. Neither knows the other's nature but sparks truly do fly when they are competing for the same position.
Ryan becomes very protective of Chloe, while Chloe is set against ever having a relationship due to her perfect match having impossible diamond eyes. She fights the attraction toward Ryan but he methodically breaks down her walls.
This story is flat out fun. Cute and endearing romance with a fiery hot connection that cannot be denied. My Wild Irish Dragon had me laughing out loud and cheering our H/H on.
I received this ARC copy of My Wild Irish Dragon from Sourcebooks Casablanca in exchange for a honest review.
