NADCA Product Specification Standards for Die Castings Part 1

This manual covers specification, design and production guidance for both users and manufacturers of conventional high pressure die castings. The manual presents tooling and processes information, alloy properties, standard and precision tolerances, GD&T, design guidelines, quality assurance provisions and more.


Revisions for this edition include: the addition of information on specialty die materials; information and data on high performance experimental aluminum alloys; the addition of a new high fluidity zinc alloy; changes to the zinc alloy chemical composition table to bring the ranges more in line with ASTM B86-10a; expansion of the aluminum alloy cross reference table by adding Chinese alloy equivalents; an update of mini-zinc tolerances; expanded information on die ownership and replacement; and expanded information on computer modeling for improved product integrity. New, improved and updated photographs and line drawings have been added throughout.
