The clue in the old album
I remember reading this book over and over again throughout my childhood. I haven't read it in a long time but the desire is still there. This book made me feel like there were really mysteries behind so many belongings, that there was beauty, excitement and adventure in other lifestyles that I so desperately wanted to be apart of. Like the somehow mysteriously magical life of a gypsy, portrayed as having gifts and knowledge we could never be in tune with, and they're hard life of constant travel being able to stick together in such unstable situations . This book is what gave me a love for reading, it showed me the opening to another world, it gave me a place to escape, and there were points in my childhood where what I needed most was a place Where my mind could hide and be given a shield of distractions. This book provided it all of that within it's self and was just what I needed at that time. I've wanted to read it again but I also don't want to alter my fond memories , the pieces I've held onto that still hold my intrigue. I trust my mind has preserved them the way that is best for me. There is such an age difference from when I read it all those years ago to now that I know the way I perceive it will be very different this time around. However, for any first time readers... Go for it!
