Archive material from Blue Guide Southern Italy (2007). While there has not been a subsequent edition of this classic Blue Guide, the core content covering the history and the main sights of Naples and the area around its bay to the northwest (including Pozzuoli, Cumae and Baia, favoured summer resorts of the ancient Romans) remains superb. Hotel and restaurant information is of course out of date but has been retained because it remains of historic interest.
