Publisher Description
First published in 1983, NA’s primary book was revised in 2008 to incorporate new personal stories in the Sixth Edition. “Our Program” contains ten chapters explaining the NA Fellowship and our program of recovery. “Our Members Share” includes personal stories from NA members worldwide, organized as:
Beginnings excerpted from earlier editions,
Coming Home journeys from addiction to recovery,
Regardless of… staying clean in spite of age, race, religion, sexual identity, etc., and
Life on Life’s Terms challenges and successes in recovery.
The Sixth Edition also includes abstracts of each personal story and brief member experiences called “Reflections.”

Real Life is Not Like The Book
Relapse is part of the theme of this book. You can beat drink or smoking if you consider mind and mood altering substances. I’ve always had a bad mood, and I’ve always smoked. Now the days of being Mr. Hyde are over. This book has a lot of good information. The only exception is that I feel addiction can be good if channeled the right way. Otherwise, bad addictions are disorders that can lead to disease if not controlled and/or counterbalanced with something productive.
Great tools
This is great because of the tolls iBooks has. It makes it easy to highlight things and quickly reference them later.
