Seventeen-year-old Nate Hargreaves has spent the past year getting over his secret former boyfriend Tommy Herron, whom he hasn't heard from since being ghosted. Though early chapters read as memoir-like, Whye (Date Me, Bryson Keller) uses an empathetic cast, upbeat narrative, and strikingly detailed locale to effectively convey whirlwind wanderlust in this exuberant summer love story. Nate and his mother are described as mixed-race; their South African family is Black and white; Jai is brown-skinned. Ages 14–up.

great book!
i absolutely LOVE “date me bryson keller” and this book is pretty similar, the author really draws from his own experiences and culture and i am all here for it😁 the only tiny complaint i have is that it ends kinda suddenly, and we don’t know if they ever win or if their relationship works out,or what happens with tommy. so i would very much have enjoyed an epilogue, but the book is still a great read
