Through nature, the artist Choi Mi Ae seems to talk about the moment but actually carries on telling stories without certain time limits. Wide breath coming within our sight depicts truth behind what is naturally seen. It is harmony of breath communicating with transparent truth.
Choi Mi Ae is a fine artist with an M.F.A. in Fine Arts from Hongik University and holds a B.F.A. from Sungshin Woman’s University. Her art has been showcased in New York, California, Paris, Turkey, Tokyo, Seoul, Busan for Solo Exhibition (13 Times) and several Group Exhibition in Miami, Köln, Hong Kong, Long Beach, Nice, Paris, Italy, Hampton, and Seoul.

자연주의에 속하면서 인생의 담론이 심도있게 배어있는 화면을 보여주고 있는 것이 최미애 작가의 조형이다. 청회색과 때로는 모노톤에 가까운 색감과 꽃, 물고기, 집 등이 모티브가 되는이 작가의 화면은 형상과 추상의 양면 기법의 조화가 뛰어나다. 그의 화면은 신선하고 시각을 빨아들이는 매력이 있다.
자연과 인간의 삶이 우회적으로 표현된 언어들은 서정적이고 정감적이다. 근래 그의 작품이많은 관심을 끌고 있는 이유일 것이다. 마음의 낙원을 느끼게 하는 그림, 그것은 작가의 내면적 성정의 은유된 표현이라는 생각이 든다.
성신여대와 홍익대 미술대학원에서 회화를 전공한 최미애 작가는 뉴욕, 캘리포니아, 파리, 터키, 동경, 서울, 부산 등에서 12회의 개인전을 가졌고, 마이애미, 퀼른, 홍콩, 롱비치, 니스, 아트파리, 이태리, 햄튼 등의 국제아트페어와 KIAF, SOAF, 화랑미술제, 부산아트쇼 등 많은 단체전에 초대 출품하였다.
