Nature Vs. Nurture

In the tradition of Jodi Picoult and Anita Shreve, Nature vs.Nurture explores the life of Elinor (Elle) York, a woman that seems to have it all. An influential family, a great job, as a personal shopper, a successful lawyer boyfriend who is politically ambitious, and she lives in one of the most beautiful cities in the world, San Francisco. For Elle, life isn't as simple as it appears. She is a woman who has spent her entire life pleasing and taking care of others. It was just part of her nature. From her politically connected Mother, to her vineyard owning Father, her reality TV show star of a sister and her demanding boyfriend, the needs of others took precedence over her own.

Everything in her life changes from the moment, Steven Michaels walks into her place of employment as her new client. A new lawyer that works in the same firm as her boyfriend, Malcolm Doctor. She feels an instant connection to him and suddenly Elle begins to question the life choices that she has made and wonders if things could be different. As Elle and Steven form a stronger bond, he wonders what part of Elle's loyalties is nature and part is nurture. He wants her to re-evaluate her relationship with Malcolm, who he feels is just "not right." He wishes she could pull herself away from her Mother, who is more focused on politics and Malcolm's future in those said politics. Steven also struggles with his growing feeling for Elle, in the shadow of his own failed relationships and doubts about if he really knows what love is. Can Steven come to terms with his own feelings? Can Elle find away to overcome what has been part of her life for so long?
