Profoundly sublime!
For me, this collection (and Volume Two) will always be a cherished “desert-island” book. Mary Oliver’s poetry manages to be both transcendent and accessible. Her use of the natural world to speak to the human experience is truly inspiring. She is one of the best poets of her generation.
