Special events take over the media for a limited period of time. We are saturated with similar images, recordings, texts or else. We are shown the same message with slight changes, over and over again, day and night, everywhere we go. Still, we forget about them as soon as they stop telling us.


In April 2014 officials reported the kidnapping of 276 girls from a secondary school in Chibok, north-east Nigeria. News and social media repeated the story steadily, but after a while, our brains were set free to forget and move on to the next breaking-news.
