Nigel the Nasty Rabbit

This beautifully illustrated book is about Nigel the a nasty rabbit. Nigel spent his days watching Farmer Bob work, and his nights eating Farmer Bob’s crops. As Farmer Bob’s livestock got thinner and thinner, Nigel and his family got fatter and fatter. Until one day when Farmer Bob investigated methods for getting rid of the feral pests from his farm.

In 2015, the Feral Animals Enviro-Stories program provided kids from central New South Wales, Australia, with the opportunity to write and illustrate stories about feral animals and their impacts on both biodiversity and agriculture. Schools were supported by technical staff from local organisations to help them learn about their feral animals. This project has resulted in ten books being published, printed and distributed as well as interactive books developed. This book was prepared by a student from St. Laurence’s School in Forbes with support from Central West Local Land Services and Invasive Animals CRC.
