No Apologies

Luz Martinez moved back to Willow Creek to make a new life for herself and her kids. She's the first woman ever to serve in the Willow Creek Fire Department and she's proud of how far she's come and everything she's accomplished. She knows her kids will thrive, and she has the safety net of her big brother Dex and his fiancee if she needs the support of family.

What Luz doesn't count on is how her new boss gets under her skin.

The Willow Creek fire chief, Ian Montgomery, didn't want to hire Luz. He didn't want a woman on the force - especially a single mom he can't stop thinking about. He's witnessed firsthand what happens when women run out of resources to protect their kids, or get caught up in situations that leave them dead or worse. He doesn't want the fire department to be the reason there are more motherless kids in the world.
