The New York Times bestselling author delivers a Regency adventure “packed with an abundance of sizzling sexual chemistry and dangerous intrigue” (Booklist).
Grey Sommers, Lord Wyndham, never met a predicament he couldn’t charm his way out of. Then a tryst with a government official’s wife during a bit of casual espionage in France condemns him to a decade in a dungeon, leaving him a shadow of his former self. Yet his greatest challenge may be the enigmatic spy sent to free his body—the only woman who might heal his soul.
Cassie Fox lost everything in the chaos of revolution, leaving only a determination to help destroy Napoleon’s empire through her perilous calling. Rescuing Grey is merely one more mission. She hadn’t counted on a man with the stark beauty of a ravaged angel, whose desperate courage and vulnerability thaw her frozen heart. But a spy and a lord are divided by an impassable gulf even if they manage to survive one last, terrifying mission . . .

PUBLISHERS WEEKLY
Romance and wartime espionage mix delightfully in the fourth Lost Lords Regency (after Nowhere Near Respectable) from bestseller Putney. Experienced secret agent Cassie Fox is sent to France at the height of the Napoleonic wars in search of the long-missing Grey Sommers, Lord Wyndham, illegally imprisoned by the corrupt and vengeful official Claude Durand after a tryst with Durand's wife. Even a successful rescue and the pair's passionate encounters cannot heal the trauma of Grey's decade-long ordeal or bridge the social gap between the dedicated spy with a mysterious past and the heir to an earldom. Cassie is an independent and impressively competent heroine who is both lover and savior for her troubled hero. The unusually balanced and sensitively depicted romantic duo, suspenseful adventure, and well-researched historical background make this a must for Regency fans.

4.5 stars
Started off at a fast pace, the middle was smooth sailing and ended with a bang. It was fun reading a different Victorian story.
No longer a gentleman
Loved this book loved both Cassie and Grey this is book 4 in the series and one of my favorites love the adventure and of course the romance. I understand each book has to lead up to the next but more on the characters from the earlier books. I want to hear about them too.
