Publisher Description
The book covers my life as a child growing up in a poor neighborhood, helping my single-parent mom raise six sisters and brothers. I never lost sight of the challenges my family is facing and was doing whatever was necessary to help. Working after school was mandatory for our survival. I later went on to earn a BS in electrical engineering in Tennessee State University and an MA in industrial engineering in the University of Toledo. I handled the opportunities as they presented themselves. The Corvette was suffering from poor quality and low customer satisfaction when I arrived, but at my retirement, we had achieved the highest quality and customer satisfaction ever experienced. On August 29, 2013, I was inducted into the Corvette Hall of Fame of the National Corvette Museum.

Back Down Memory Lane
This is an excellent book! I was the second GMI student hired at the Corvette plant in Bowling Green, KY. My first day was June 1st, 1981 the first day of production. I didn’t have visibility to the history of the Corvette plant in St. Louis. I recognize so many names in the book and every time I come across a name I pause and reflect on the person (Sam Robinson, Eddie and Carolyn Jones, etc.). Also appreciate how GMI hired professors in those days. What a wonderful history of the Corvette plant and General Motors!
