Publisher Description
Life in Alaska's sub-arctic is difficult enough and when a man from the Adirondack Mountains takes a job as a dog musher in the region, he learns what it is to live as a minority for the first time. Eventually, life brings him back to Southeast Alaska, the place he fell in love with two decades earlier.
Cedric writes about abusive bosses who have become "bushwhacked" after living in isolation for too long; what it is to live with caribou and moose as neighbors; how to deal with bears; dealing with heartbreak in an isolated and rural Alaska city and how to come to peace after making several wrong life-choices.
At once funny, poignant and austere, Cedric paints a picture of how a chosen life of adventure really pans out.

Really cool
I downloaded the free sample and was hooked. This reads like a journal and adventure story; it is almost voyeuristic when reading, like a guilty pleasure.
It is one of the most unique reads this year. I enjoyed it, but I am biased because I lived in Skagway for a while - one of the places Cedric writes about (and yes, I know Cedric!)
