North Rowan High School: How a public 9-12 school found its own True North

North Rowan High School has been on a transformational journey as their teachers, community, and students rethought the way education was carried out in their building.  Leveraging a one-to-one environment with MacBook and iPad devices, NRHS has created design labs where 9th and 10th graders engage in challenge based learning for 20% of their day.  As a result, students are supported in finding their own True North and expressing their gifts and talents through a technology rich, real-world learning environment.  This book tells the story of their transformational journey from failing school to innovative leader in challenge-based learning, authentic work creation, and applications of design thinking.
