There are some mornings when you really should make the time to stop for coffee.
When Trudie Eyre came to Hollywood as personal assistant for the famous and indulged, she expected to see wealth, glamor and maybe a little crazy. What she did not expect was to be wedged in a doggie door, trying to rescue America’s Sweetheart from a potentially career destroying booty call with Hollywood’s Sexiest Man Alive.
Finding the dead body of Hollywood’s favorite bad boy slumped in a shower did not feature in the job description either.
Blackmailed by the police for her help, Trudie must navigate the world of the famous and not so famous, while keeping her distance from her gorgeous fake undercover cop boyfriend, before she becomes the next target.
Happy in Hollywood
Gertrude aka Trudie from Australia works as a personal assistant to the highly self centered Hollywood set. This story kept me interested from start to finish. Ms Gant writes a very believable tale of good friends, loyal employers, and murder with a touch of romance. This is not another cozy mystery where someone totally unqualified steps in and solves it while the police stand by. A very refreshingly honest and trusting Trudie goes about her job and amazes friends with her genuine good actions that get her blackmailed and shot. I can’t wait to read the rest of the series.
Not Famous in Hollywood
Quite entertaining. Characters draw you in so you feel part of the action. Glad there is more to come.
A series I will enjoy. Humorous, compassionate and intelligent characters in a well plotted and well written mystery.
