Ruthie and NotMyDog
When I received my copy of this book I was a bit overwhelmed. The tears welled up and blurred the first pages. Why? Because it tells a true story about Ruthie and a dog. My name is Ruthie. The author, Joanna, I can tell you truthfully, very simply tells a wonderful story about a wonderful animal who came into my life. Of course, there are tons of details and long drawn out things that I could tell you about the grownup personal events, but, here’s the gist of it simply and beautifully told for the young reader. Tragedy came to my house and my sadness overtook me. To the point, where I did not want to allow anything into my heart that I could possibly lose and have to suffer loss again.
Sadness and wanting to be left alone kept the distance between myself and ‘NotMyDog’, it was my defense.
This wonderful animal encouraged acceptance, peace and brightened the path forward.
I recommend this book to those who may need some encouragement going forward despite their broken heart.
