Ray Rhodes, born in 1948 to working-class parents Thomas and Ellen, grew up in a turbulent household in Birmingham. Through the ups and downs of life in a family prone to drama, his love of ballroom dancing was a lifelong source of happiness and escapism – and would bring even more love into his life.

Based on a true story, this is a tale of love, perseverance, and finding the extraordinary in ordinary life.
