Publisher Description
Albert Turner was only supposed to be visiting Quill Point, but now he may never leave.
Quill Point, Illinois, used to be like any other small town. Most of its citizens have lived there their entire lives. Each of them is a part of a larger community of friends, neighbors, and coworkers.
When the sky changed, no one saw it for what it was: the beginning of the end. Now, as horrors and monsters rise, and the population of Quill Point dwindles, the remaining citizens must try to survive the evil machinations at the heart of this new apocalypse. They are in the middle of something beyond human understanding. Something primal and hostile.
Nothing Will Be Left is the first book in the terrifying Quill Point Chronicles. A cosmic horror anthology series told from multiple perspectives. It's full of existential terror, body horror, and unknowable destruction waiting to be unleashed.
Customer Reviews
A promising start from a new author.
I'll admit it: I asked for an ARC of Nothing Will Be Left based on the cool cover and title. October Kane is a new author, which means not everyone will be willing to take a chance on this but I think it's great for horror hounds and fans of Lovecraftian mythos. The early chapters set the stage for some serious crap to go down, and go down it does. At the beginning of the book a weird storm sets in that begins killing people exposed to it and, not long after, a voice from the clouds gleefully starts counting down at people die.
Although the beginning was strong the book lost me a bit toward the end. I felt as though Kane struggled to decide on a direction for the ending and lost the voice of the rest of the book somewhat. That said, I'd give this writing debut a 3.5 out of 5. Go in expecting a gory and fun horror and you won't be disappointed. P.S. It looks like book two is slated for release in January.
I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
