Nursing the Flame by Shelli Stevens is the fourth in her fabulous Bro Code series. Reggie Andrews and Amber Chapman are friends and fellow firefighters. Reggie took Amber under his wing, so to speak, when she started as a rookie a couple years ago. Since then, they’ve developed a strong friendship with an undercurrent of awareness that more might be possible…
Shelli Stevens does a terrific job with Amber and Reggie’s feelings and chemistry, and their friends and family are well-written support around them. Reggie and Amber definitely deal with some mutual pining as they try to convince themselves that nothing could happen and that there isn’t truly anything there to act on. Nursing the Flame is funny and tender and hot in turns, and is a great close to this binge-able series!
