Mitch Rapp confronts a very different kind of killer in the explosive new thriller in Vince Flynn’s #1 New York Times bestselling series, written by Kyle Mills.
With President Anthony Cook convinced that Mitch Rapp poses a mortal threat to him, CIA Director Irene Kennedy is forced to construct a truce between the two men. The terms are simple: Rapp agrees to leave the country and stay in plain sight for as long as Cook controls the White House. In exchange, the administration agrees not to make any moves against him.
This fragile détente holds until Cook’s power-hungry security adviser convinces him that Rapp has no intention of honoring their agreement. In an effort to put him on the defensive, they leak the true identity of his partner, Claudia Gould. As Rapp races to neutralize the enemies organizing against her, he discovers that a new generation of assassins is on her trail. A killer known to intelligence agencies only as Legion.
The shadowy group has created a business model based on double-blind secrecy. Neither the killer nor the client knows the other’s identity. Because of this, Legion can’t be called off nor can they afford to fail. No matter how long it takes—weeks, months, years—they won’t stand down until their target is dead. Faced with the seemingly impossible task of finding and stopping Legion, Rapp and his people must close ranks against a world that has turned on them.
APPLE BOOKS REVIEW
An act of betrayal sets off a covert war in this exhilarating spy thriller. Legendary CIA assassin Mitch Rapp becomes an enemy of the state after a megalomaniacal president rises to office. They eventually reach an uneasy truce…until the government enlists the nefarious assassin group Legion to go after Rapp’s friend Claudia. Now the gloves are off, and Rapp is back in the fray—and at war with the POTUS. This read is packed with nonstop excitement as Rapp’s personal mission sends him all over the globe. Kyle Mills packs the plot with game-changing twists that made it hard for us to put the book down, since practically every chapter ends on a pulse-pounding cliffhanger. Oath of Loyalty is the kind of read that can turn an average day into a riveting, edge-of-your-seat thrill ride.
Oath of Loyalty
A nice Mitch Rapp thriller. I very much recommend it.
Love it but disappointed at the same time!
I am enthralled with Vince Flynn/Kyle Mills, Mitch Rapp and Co. I’ve read every book in the series. In many ways this chapter was predictable; others not so much. I was captivated at times and at others, wondering if I was reading the same material as before or from others? Anyway, Rapp and Co. have earned and need more substance and respect. Again, absolutely love anything in this franchise (praying more films come because again…disappointed) but ultimately left wanting here. In retrospect, I anticipate this is a transitional novel likely setting up Irene for a Cabinet Role or even POTUS, at some point, with Rapp the ideal candidate to lead either the CIA or (more likely, as the CIA has been rendered obsolete here) Homeland/FBI as this novel made it clear the focus is shifting inward vs. external threats. Rapp’s focus is terrorism, and the field of war is now local. Who knows but cheers to more!
Just keeps getting Freaking Awesome!!
My title speaks for itself!!! Thank you Kyle Mills, I Love me some Mitch Rapp
