A romance author, a cover model, a book signing…a crush.
Ordinary women like me know we shouldn't fall for beautiful men like Travis Zehler, one of the hottest cover models in romance fiction. But, sometimes, we can't help ourselves.
When I meet him at a book signing, my attraction to him is instant. I'm infatuated, and I can't stop thinking about him.
Even though I have doubts he'd ever be interested, I invite Travis to attend a book signing with me. And he says yes.
My fantasy comes true when he takes me to his bed, and the more time we spend together, the more I see that Travis isn't some object to be desired.
He's a man with a past. A man who's been burned. A man who's learned to keep his guard up.
I want to show him he can trust again, but when our confidence in each other is shaken, I begin to wonder if happily ever afters are only for my romance novels.

A real, refreshing story about the book industry
This book had me entertained from beginning to end! This story offered a different look into the author/model/book signing life that I, as a non author, will never know.
It was nice to get a glimpse into all the other things, the author things, that go into books and promotion. Sydney is an immediately likable character who is body positive and comfortable in her own skin. That was a huge plus for me. Sure there were times of insecurity, who doesn’t have those?, but she was so real to me. Yes she was an author who had a crush on a model but she still had the same worries we all do; “who is that girl on his profile?” “I can’t let him know I’m stalking him” “why won’t he connect with me on social media?”
And Travis. He’s not just a pretty face and hot bod, and I loved that. He was just as insecure as Sydney was. He had his own worries going in to a relationship with Sydney that I never would have thought about.
I think (pre-caffeine so I swear to nothing) I haven’t read these authors before but I will be now!
Fun, light and charming read!
I love reading books about authors, because well, I am such an avid reader and it gives us a glimpse to their world of writing. In Object of My Desire by R.L. Kenderson she gives us a look in not only an author’s life, but also signings and on top of that gives us a romance with a cover model. It’s a romance reader dream!
Sydney is a romance author and we meet her as she sets out to a signing with her PA. At the signing she meets another author and the cover model she brought with her. The four of them spend time together and Sydney finds Travis very attractive but believes a woman like her would never attract a man like him. Not that she was not confident in herself and who she was, she was only (in her mind) thinking realistically.
Travis was sexy and charming, but we also got to see him as a person. His ex-did a number on him and is not really ready to jump into another relationship. He is younger than Sydney, but like her, knows what he wants and value. I loved Travis so much. When Sydney is getting ready to release her next book, she uses Travis as her cover model and invites him to her next signing.
I loved watching them begin to get to know each other and become friends. Their relationship was fun, light and easy. But with insecurities plaguing them, can they realize what they have together before it’s too late? I had so much fun reading Object of My Desire by R.L. Kenderson.
Author meets Model.
Sydney, the author, meets Travis, a model, at a book signing. They are attracted to each other, but have personal issues that they each need to overcome. Sydney and Travis have an conflict that comes from these issues and split. Yet, Sydney does not give up and does something great to help them both.
