Great book
This book is great. It has exercises at the end of each chapter and a summary of what you have learnt. I had never written a line of code in my life. This book took me right through right the very start of programming, to the point where I have written my first, albeit simple but functioning app on an iPhone.
I bought the first edition a year ago in paperback, but just bought this second edition as an ebook as a reference point as it now includes text for the latest version of the SDK.
There are also free supporting videos and free webinars which go along with the book on You-Tube.
I bought three books to help me start programming in Objective C and they were all good, but I doubt I would have had the fast start and the encouragement boost that gave me without this book.
Typos galore
This book is terrible. The first few chapters are good, but after chapter 7, 8, the typos are impossible to fix unless you already know the lesson. It's also expensive; hardcopy and kindle versions are not only cheaper but UP TO DATE. This one is the first edition and the second edition has been out for some time.
