Chrissy is 18 and living with her mom’s ex-boyfriend in Montclair. Chrissy’s mom Janice moved out but left Chrissy behind so she can finish high school. Chrissy has finished school and is working at a beauty supply store. Chrissy is a curvy woman. She has a crush on her mom’s ex Brad but she is afraid to say anything in fear of being kicked out. One day Chrissy goes looking for Brad in the three story mansion where they live. She has never been on the third floor because that belongs to Brad. Chrissy hears noises and sees the office door cracked so she peers in to see Brad with a sex doll on his desk and he is having sex with it. Brad is attracted to Chrissy but he feels weird about wanting to be with her. Brad has a fetish with sex dolls, they don’t talk back and they just lay there. Brad tries to avoid Chrissy as much as possible. One day Chrissy comes up with a plan to take the place of the sex doll because she wants to have sex with Brad. As Brad is entertaining one of his dolls he gets a call from Chrissy saying she is locked out of the house, when he goes to unlocked the door Chrissy slips in and takes the place of the sex doll. When Brad comes back he notices right away that Chrissy is laying under the sheet and he figures he can act like she is his doll and have sex with her. The best sex either has had. Chrissy takes the place of another doll on a different day and she thinks it is working. Brad gets another doll sent to him and Chrissy finds it first. She takes the doll out of the box and she climbs in the box to surprise Brad and force a conversation. When Brad sees Chrissy in the box he comes unglued and tells her that the games are over and done. Will Chrissy leave the house after Brad embarrassed her? Will Brad realize that he doesn’t want Chrissy to leave, he wants a relationship with her? Will Brad and Chrissy find love and happiness together with their plastic dolls?

I can always rely on SE Laws novellas for something light, fun, and smutty to read. “Obsessed with My Mom’s Ex” is a follow-up story to “Pregnant By My Dad’s Best Friend.” I distinctly remember Brad and his blow-up doll being mentioned. Brad was quite attached to this doll and only did things with it. I was intrigued, and his story finally curbed that curiosity. Chrissy’s mom used to date Brad, and though they have broken up, Chrissy continues to live with Brad. She had quite a crush on him, but Brad hadn’t noticed. Brad is a bit arrogant, so Chrissy assumed Brad disliked her. One day, she catches Brad in a comprising position with a particular object and is intrigued. From that point on, she makes attempts to get his attention.

“Pregnant By My Dad’s Best Friend” is a short novella that was fun to read.
