I've been broken for a while, afraid of what monsters lurked in the shadows of the cities, and I've always been careful of who I brought close to me and who I kept at a distance. 

Until I met him. 

The boy in the mask who stood beneath my window. 

My first instinct was to question him, but there was something else I wanted. 

Something less innocent. 

And despite me watching nightmares swarm around him like a monsoon, I could only find myself wandering closer.
