Obtaining Your Calling & Election

A young missionary kneels in prayer. His heart goes out to God on behalf of a young family he is teaching. He is seeking an answer to a question he has been pondering and struggling with for weeks: How do I reach this family I have grown to love? How do I help them solve the serious problems they are having? Suddenly, in a burst of insight and inspiration, the young man receives an answer. He receives the answer. In a small room, in a country far away, this young missionary has just experienced his first taste of true Charity. He is beginning to develop the divine character that will prepare him to live in the Celestial Kingdom.


Years later the scene changes. The young missionary is now an old man with white hair. He is kneeling at an altar in the Temple of God with his eternal companion at his side. The Prophet of the Lord is there. They are about to receive a “second anointing.” They are going to be sealed to Eternal Life. They will be entering the Church of the Firstborn and will receive the gift of the Second Comforter.
