However, as they try to settle into the rather difficult life of gypsy work, their hopes are dragged into the realities of existence. Friendships and loneliness and all sorts of belonging are poignantly depicted through Steinbeck’s prose as well as through his character’s eyes in the novella Making Of Mice And Men a novel about human weakness and hope in an intriguing way.
