Off-Ice Husband Material

Twenty years of friendship. One drunken night in Vegas. Zero regrets... until the PR nightmare begins.

Connor Blake is the NHL's "Old Reliable." He’s a stoic, hardworking defenseman who blocks shots, keeps his head down, and hides the fact that he's been desperately in love with his best friend for over a decade. But when his team's front office uses his lack of "roots" as leverage to lowball his contract extension, Connor's carefully controlled life starts to crack.

Eli Park is a physical therapist who spends his days fixing broken bodies and his nights fixing Connor's terrible cooking. He's built his life in the margins of Connor's world, harboring a secret twenty-year crush and accepting that being Connor's best friend is the closest he'll ever get to having his heart. When his clinic faces a crippling rent increase, Eli is prepared to lose everything he's built rather than ask Connor for a handout.

Then comes a Las Vegas away game, a neon-lit wedding chapel, an Elvis impersonator, and a tequila-fueled decision that changes their relationship status from best friends to husbands.

What starts as a drunken mistake quickly becomes a strategic marriage of convenience. Connor gets the "settled family man" image to secure his contract, and Eli gets the spousal insurance to save his clinic. They draft the ground rules: one year, separate finances, and strictly no physical intimacy.

But sharing a house, a king-sized bed, and the explosive memory of their wedding night makes keeping their hands off each other impossible. As the lines between fake and real blur, Connor and Eli must decide if they are brave enough to risk their twenty-year friendship for a chance at a permanent happily ever after.
