Captivating reading and realistic struggles
Some romance novels have the heroine Dither about and waste time over frivolous misunderstanding, creating obstacles where none exist.
In this novel, the obstacles feel real. The hero and heroine don’t waste any more time than needed to overcome them.
Oh my!
I love this sweet, complex, and sexy romance. Nix and Emily evolve as people and grow closer before being ripped apart by things neither clearly understand. Love brings them back together! Enjoy this well written story as much as I have.
Show don’t tell
The plot was great. But For my personal taste, this book told too much and showed too little. It definitely has potential. I would definitely read it again if the author polishes it up. The characters were a little flat. It was vague. Almost as if I was reading a diary. As a reader I like to watch scenes unfold, not be told what happened. I liked how we get nix and Emily’s point of view. But the repetition of Emily talking about the same event nix was, was getting old. Nix’s character evolution wasn’t drastically shown which disappointed me. I guess I just wanted more.
