Publisher Description
They say that lightning never strikes the same place twice, but for Zach Jacobs, that just isn’t true. It’s hard enough being seventeen-- juggling school, football, friends, and teenage romance-- but Zach’s about to find out just how complicated it can get when he begins to suspect that maybe he was the lightning. Teenage woes hardly seem significant when you’ve got lightning shooting from your fingertips and a couple of murderous Titans trying to settle an ancient score. Olympia Heights: The Pantheon, is the first of a four book series under the Olympia Heights name.

A soon to be classic spin on the original classics
(This review is based on the paperback edition)
Classical mythology is the original soap opera. A large cast of characters with far too much power and far to little maturity wreak havoc upon those who make the unfortunate decision to exist in the same world as them. It is no surprise, then, that the gods and goddesses of the Greek pantheon seem right at home at Olympia Heights Senior High.
A cast this size can be a burden in the hands of the wrong writer, but Strickland never over complicates things or loses sight of her narrative, making this crew easy to follow, and compelling to boot. It's a fresh and entertaining take on a timeless cast of characters, and fans of mythology, contemporary fantasy, or high school drama would do well to give it a look.
