Chioma lived in the United States and was a young woman adopted from Nigeria as a child. She traveled to Nigeria to explore her roots and find her birth mother. Chinedu is a friend she had connected with while in Lagos, and he showed her around Lagos and why it was the mega city of Africa. She later discovered that Chinedu and his friend, Tobi, were involved in internet fraud, which later got her into trouble with the police. Chioma's boss, Ronald, is a white American born in Warri, Nigeria, so he travels to Nigeria to help Chioma. Chioma felt that her association with Chinedu and Tobi was a distraction in finding her birth mother and would tarnish her image and that of her father, who was to become the next Senate President of Nigeria.

Omalicha of No Nation is a unique and thought-provoking novel that explores many important themes. It is a story of moral responsibility, fraud, relationships, wealth, power, class, race, identity, and child harvesting and baby factories in the southern region of Nigeria.
