Peterson's style is lighthearted and funny, but following the Igibys' story requires patience and attention to detail and character so as not to get lost. The sheer amount of names, places, creatures and history Peterson invents will frustrate some readers it is so complicated that he inserts explanatory "historical" footnotes throughout (though many are amusing).

I picked up the book to screen it as a possible series for my precocious eight-year-old to consider, but didn't expect that I would get so hooked on the storytelling I didn't get to bed till 3 AM! I would put this up there with Lloyd Alexander. Marketed for children or not, a good story is a good story. Can't recommend it enough.

This Tale Is An Excellent Read!
The Wingfeather Saga is a great series and probably one of the best book trilogies I’ve ever read. The constant danger and adventure makes the story exciting and interesting. Seriously, I was on the edge of my couch cushion! Btw I am rating the entire series when I say this, not just this part of the entire saga.
My favorite character is definitely Tink. I mean, he’s a little wolf boy it’s too hard to resist him. Also in the third book, when he got caught in the cage I cried.
ANDREW PETERSON, YOU ARE A GENIUS. THANK YOU FOR THIS EPIC SERIES! ALSO, LOOKING FORWARD TO THE NEXT SEASON OF THE SHOW!!
