On the Motion of Animals

Along with Plato and Socrates, Aristotle (384-322 B.C.) is one of the most famous Greek philosophers of history, for his work on rhetoric, reason, and metaphysics. In fact, Aristotle was the most well-regarded of the Greek philosophers until Plato overtook him in reputation around the early 20th century.


Aristotle also wrote about the subconscious, especially dreams and memory, and he seemed to take an interest in animals too. Though it's not his most famous work, he wrote a series of writings about how animals lived.
