Publisher Description
Big girls don't cry--they go after what they want--in this "fresh, fun, adorable" (Lori Wilde) romantic comedy.
Thanks to her bangin' curves, Valerie Carmichael has always turned heads -- with the exception of seriously sexy Logan Mathis. Just Valerie's luck that the object of her lust-filled affection is also best friends with her overprotective brother. But Valerie's determined to get Logan's attention . . . even if it means telling a teeny little lie to get a job at his new bar.
Logan can't remember a time when Valerie didn't secretly fuel all his hottest fantasies. Now the curvaceous she-devil is working behind his bar, tempting him every damn night. It's only when he finds Valerie's naughty things-to-do list that Logan decides to break every rule in the book -- by making each red-hot deed a reality.
No one warned them that they were going to fall this hard. And no one warned them that sometimes the smallest secrets can have the biggest consequences.
PUBLISHERS WEEKLY
Bliss's passable second Perfect Fit contemporary (after Size Matters) will satisfy readers looking for an easy read featuring a relatable larger woman. Valerie Carmichael's never had a problem attracting men thanks to her outgoing personality and "banging" curves, but the one man she's really yearned for, her brother's best friend, Logan Mathis, never seemed interested. Now that he's back in Granite, Tex., and opening a new bar, Valerie is determined to get his undivided attention. Overcoming her obnoxiously overbearing and overprotective brother, who growls when men approach her, Valerie ends up working behind the bar for Logan, and it doesn't take long for their previously platonic relationship to heat up. Valerie and Logan's relationship offers few surprises and meets only minor barriers, including his inability to listen to her. Valerie is the best-drawn character and readers will respond to her bubbly personality, but some may wonder why a grown woman won't just tell her irritating brother to take a hike (and mean it).

Second Chance & Best Friend's Brother Romance All In One...
This is the second novel in the A Perfect Fit series. The story begins with Leah, Sam, Brett, and Valerie enjoying a night out at their friend's new bar. Brett, Valerie's overprotective brother, has made it his life's mission to hover over Valerie and make decisions for her regarding her life. Although his controlling behavior aggravates her, she allows it. Even though Valerie has had a crush on Logan "forever" and does what she can to avoid him, she tags along with Brett for a night out with her bestie, Leah. Valerie can't help but to support Logan by coming to the grand opening of his bar.
Growing up, Logan was the town's bad boy. As best friends, Logan and Brett were always getting into trouble. Logan left town because he started having feelings for Valerie and ran. Eight years later, Logan returns home in order to help his mom and open his dream bar. Logan's mom is about to lose her house, so he plans to use his profits off the bar to help save her house. During the grand opening, Logan's head bartender quits and one of the other bartenders struggles to get orders out in a timely fashion....In walks Valerie. Valerie has always wanted to try bartending, so she dazzles Logan with her flashy tricks, skills. Logan concedes and gives her a job--temporarily. As Logan and Valerie work together, their chemistry becomes undeniable. They begin a relationship built on deceit...
I'll start off by saying this was the first Alison Bliss novel I've read. I truly enjoyed the witty banter, chemistry, and love shown amongst friends. There were times I wanted to strangle both Valerie and Logan. I would've knocked Brett out long ago! Lol. I could not have tolerated my brother making decisions about my personal life, even if his actions were out of love. At times I thought Valerie was weak and selfish. Then she'd turn around and amaze me with her awesome attitude concerning her body image!!!! I LOVE that Alison writes love stories for average women with HOT men!!! Soooo relatable. I loved Logan's honesty and the love he showered on his mom, but groaned when he talked badly about himself--"I'm not good enough for Valerie". I was extremely happy when Logan finally went after his woman!!! I read a gifted copy of this novel and all opinions stated are my own.
Very entertaining
I really enjoy Alison Bliss' writing. She tells a very entertaining story to the point that there were excerpts that made me laugh out loud. I have already read the first book of this series and can't wait for the third when it comes out in 2018. Thank you for sharing your storytelling ability!
ON THE PLUS SIDE
In her uniquely sassy voice, Alison Bliss brings her A game with the second book in her A Perfect Fit series! I didn’t think I could love a couple more than I did Leah & Sam from the first book Size Matters, but Valerie and Logan managed to lasso my heart from the start and had me waiting with bated breath to see if they were going to hook up and claim that happily ever after! Sweet & feisty characters, super hot sexual tension and lots of tight friendships pave the way to a really great story!
Valerie Carmichael has never been shy about saying what she wants and going out to get it, but there was one thing that she has wanted for longer than she can even remember that she never managed to get … her brother’s best friend Logan! He left town years ago before she could convince him she was the gal for him … but now he’s back, and he better watch out!
Logan Mathis just so happens to need some help at his newly opened bar, and Val tells a little fib to get a job. Logan has never let on, but she’s been starring in his fantasies since way back in the day and she’s only gotten hotter and more voluptuous while he’s been gone. How is he supposed to handle being behind the bar with her every night?
