One False Move

WHILE HAILA AND JEFF SQUABBLE - A TOWN PAGEANT TURNS DEADLY

If Haila had not quarreled with Jeff, she would not have visited her aunt in Texas, and she could not have taken part in the town pageant.

Certainly she would never have found a dead body. But being Haila and having an instinct for doing the wrong thing at the most dangerous time - she made all these mistakes.

As a result she found herself caught in a web of deadly secrets. But just then Jeff appeared, on assignment from a national magazine to cover the quaint Texas pageant. And Haila discovered she wasn't so angry with him after all. For her ability to spot clues and his to link them together into a solution made them the perfect sleuthing couple.

Here's another gay and quick-witted return of the Troys to the mystery scene, in a knife-edge suspense story of evil and murder.

"Breezy and nicely tricky." The Chicago (IL) Tribune

"There is plenty of suspense contained in this new mystery and as always Roos has composed the material around a carefully knit plot. This is another Troys whodunit the reader will want to finish at one sitting." Lewiston ME Sun Journal

"Welcome return of the Jeff and Haila Troy detecting team, squabbling magnificently and dealing with danger and mystery in a small-town pageant in Texas. Much fun." San Francisco (CA) Chronicle
