Three women are on a collision course with their past and future. Will the truth break them or set them free?

In 1992, eight-year-old Janet is taken from a Niagara Falls Chuck E Cheese right from under the nose of her careless mother, Leona. Twenty-five years later, in New Hope, Pennsylvania, that little girl is now Madeline, with no memory of the abduction. But her adoptive mother Kiki has more than one dark secret to guard and now Madeline's predictable life is about to get turned upside down when Leona's recent cancer diagnosis sends her in search of her lost daughter. As everyone converges in the clubhouse at Schmuck's Mini Golf, the stage is set for a confrontation that will test everyone's ability to forgive.

One Good Thing is a cinematic short novel about exceedingly complex family relationships. A young woman is forced to confront her repressed memories when her adoptive mother's un-diagnosed mental illness and present substance abuse wreaks havoc and upends everything she's believed to be true about them both. Delving into the various ways that each character resolves the seismic turmoil resulting from the shocking revelation of long-hidden family secrets, the novel shows us how each learns to move forward with grace and acceptance ... or not.
