One More Chance

Getting a second chance after 20 years doesn’t happen all the time, but it happened to Mick when Sierra walked back into his life. Mick left to pursue his dreams which he accomplished. Sierra is accomplished in her own right as well. Mick is still very much attracted to Sierra even after all that time has passed. They decide to take 2 weeks to get reacquainted. This was a sweet book overall with very little spice.

I cannot tell a lie. First off, I, like many Samantha Chase fans, have waited and prayed for this book to first be written and then be released for a VERY long time. I freaking cheered my butt off when I heard Ms. Chase was going to finally write Mick’s story and it was going to be a part of an anthology. I could not wait for it to release and hit my Kindle. Yes, it was short, but Mick and Sienna story was phenomenal!!! I loved every word. But I thought Mick and Sienna had more to say so I still wanted more! You see Ms. Chase’s Band on the Run (including This is Our Song from her Shaughnessy Brothers series) is one of my ALL-TIME favorite series of books. Ms. Chase must have been read my mind and felt the same way, because she rewrote and expanded the book into a full novel.

YES!!!!! Freaking music to my ears, excuse the pun, well sort of. You see I also bought the audio version of the book as well. I was ecstatic when I found out the book was going to be narrated by Chris Kipiniak, Julia Motyka the same narrators that performed the other books in the series. Mr. Kipiniak and Ms. Motyka were phenomenal bringing this book to life for me as always. I love Mr. Kipiniak’s range of different voices. I could pretty much tell which character was speaking throughout the book. Yes, this matters to me because we got to revisit all the characters from both the Shaughnessy Brothers series and the Band on the Run series. And I absolutely loved catching up with these two families. Yes, I consider the characters from the band family!

Now, to “the rest of the story”, lol…

“One More Chance” is the perfect title for this book. You see, fate has stepped in and given Mick and Sienna a second chance at a love, a REAL love!

The back cover says it all: “Twenty-three years ago, he hopped on a bus to pursue his dreams in the music business.
But that meant leaving behind the girl who could never really be his.” Or so Mick thought.

Sienna was Mick’s best friend’s little sister, and back then, only 16 years old. Mick never forgot Sienna and what could have been. And Sienna NEVER forgot Mick, always thinking “what if”.

Then, fate steps in and they see each other again after 23 years and the attraction re-ignites hotter and deeper than ever before. Mick and Sienna spend two weeks together while Sienna is on vacation, and they both catch up on their lives. During this time, they are both falling for the other again, but reluctant to admit their feeling afraid they will spook the other…. (Stupid people!!! COMMUNICATION!!!!)

This book will bring out ALL the emotions, laughter, happiness, aggravation, as well as sadness. Yes, the whole range, and yes, I used quite a few tissues. In my opinion, Ms. Chase did/does this very well, bringing emotions out in the reader.

I was gifted with a copy of this book because of my love of reading romance, and for my thoughts and opinions of the book. In my honest opinion… I LOVED this book so much I have read it cover to cover, bought the audio of it and listened to it twice, trying to see if I missed anything, no, I didn’t, and yes, I lied, I just loved it so much I wanted to listen again.

Totally blown away by how much I loved the characters, storyline, and HEA

One More Chance by Samantha Chase, the final book in her Band on the Run series, is a second chance, HEA, standalone / series story that totally ruined a night’s sleep. I could not put it down.

Michael (Mick to everyone except Sienna) and Sienna parted ways when he hopped a bus all those years ago, hoping to make it bi. Fast forward to today and he’s done all that and more. Mick’s first band (characters Julian, Reily, and Matt from the Band on the Run series) launched him as the “go to” manager for bands. He’s got a staff, houses all over the world ... but the houses are empty and he’s lonely.

Sienna is at the top of her game as a professor ... she too has hit her career goals, but that’s it. She’s not really living even though she’s well respected in her profession.

A chance meeting has Mick convincing Sienna to take a few weeks off and see if the spark can be reignited. Amid travel that has the two of them realizing that they may have something that can last. While navigating the newness of their relationship, they are faced with the sobering reality of what a life of regrets might look like.

I loved the ending ... and immediately started the re-read. One More Chance is a story of friendship, romance, and what happens when you do take a chance ... on a better tomorrow and someone to stand beside you. Ms. Chase has outdone herself on this story as it goes well beyond the romance, with threads of deep and meaningful friendships.
