APPLE BOOKS REVIEW
Five kids enter detention in this enticing mystery, but one of them leaves in a body bag—and, naturally, everyone’s a suspect. What’s more, brainy Bronwyn, popular Addy, class criminal Nate, and jock Cooper all have secrets to hide that the murdered boy, a misfit named Simon, was on the verge of sharing. This unlikely group soon bonds together to try to figure out what really happened. Switching between each teen’s point of view to tell the story, Karen McManus captures their unmistakable voices in short, punchy sections that give the book the feel of a binge-worthy TV show. And we love how the twisty mystery pays homage to the classic ’80s teen movie The Breakfast Club. You won’t want to stop until the final page.
