Can an extraterrestrial whose home planet was destroyed, an octopus from the bottom of the Marianas Trench and a disgraced marine biologist learn to understand each other in time to save all Earth life?
One Planet... Two Worlds is a story about unlikely allies facing a foe not one of them can defeat alone. Sat in the near future, this hard-science, science fiction features aliens and intelligent octopuses. (Octopuses & Octopi are both correct, but octopuses is preferred.)
Humans never knew Earth's most advanced civilization lived beneath the waves of the sea, or that a giant spaceship approached the solar system. The incoming Mothership is what drove the aquatic civilization into hiding.
Maurine biologist Dr. Miguel Phillips thought he had discovered a new Marianas Trench, human-level-smart octopus species, Octo Sapiens. The scientific community mocked him. The university fired him. Unless Dr. Miguel Phillips can prove that he isn't an incompetent fool, the Mothership will destroy all Earth life.
An ancient species, hoping against hope that primitive 21st century humans might help them defeat the alien invader, had revealed itself to Dr. Miguel Phillips, but the deep ocean life form did not know how to communicate with surface-dwelling, air-breathing animals. Logically, the useless, primitive humans should be ignored.
Logic also said, "When the alien Mothership invades, all Earth life dies." Logic must not have the final word.
