Finding your true love can feel like a once-in-a-lifetime event, but as the heroine of this heartfelt romance learns, lightning sometimes really can strike twice. When Emma finally married the love of her life, Jesse, they promised to live each day as an adventure. But tragedy strikes soon after he boards a helicopter headed for their first anniversary celebration in Malibu. Taylor Jenkins Reid (Daisy Jones & The Six) leads us on a deeply emotional journey as Emma struggles with overcoming her grief, finding great joy after a great loss, and embracing the possibility of another true love.
The end of the book is wonderful, but all the details leading up to it were long winded. I almost gave up 100 or so pages in, but I am glad I didn’t.
I never thought a book would make me cry so much and also make me so happy and I 110% recommend this book. It is the first romance I have ever read and I really enjoyed it. It’s not corny and all about the intimacy but it is instead very deep and meaningful and really changed my perspective on life and what love is supposed to be like.
Not a bad read!
I would rate this book a solid 3 stars. It’s not a bad or boring book by any means although it is not the most exciting one either. This book has been perfect for the mood/vibe i’ve be lately. It’s a great book to read during periods of relaxing or to de stress to. I would recommend definitely as “a good book”.
