The first boy I ever hated was Jax Bridges.
The first man I loved was his best friend.
My plan was to meet a boy, fall in love, and live happily ever after.
That ended when my boyfriend died and left me half of his business.
Now, his best friend and I are business partners.
There’s just one problem: We hate each other.
Jax and I have been rivals since childhood.
He wants me out of the business, but it’s all I have left.
The more time we spend together, the more we question if we were ever rivals at all.
Will my last love be his best friend?
Or will we destroy each other?
Another Gem by Miss Charity Ferrell!
I absolutely loved this book! I’ve reread this book 3-4 times just to really grasp the feelings and intimacy of each scene and dialogue. All the characters are witty and fun, the sexual tension and attraction between Ameila and Jax is so hot and steamy, and the storyline pulled on my heart strings many times. I really appreciate how Charity delivers a level of realism to her writing by bringing awareness to real life issues such as mental illness and how it can affect loved ones around you.
I really wish there were a few more chapters that allowed us to see more of Jaxson and Ameilas character developments from kids to teenagers to adults. I also think a great addition would be if there were a few more chapters towards the end where Jaxson and Ameila really fight to win each others love through their actions.
So excited for this new series from Charity!
So excited for this new series from Charity! This series seems to be a second generation of sorts of the kids from the Blue Beech & Twisted Fox series – and I for one am so excited we are getting this next generation! Amelia and Jax have been friends their entire lives due to their parents but have had an extreme rivalry between each other for as long as they could remember. They both also have feelings for each other that they keep suppressed, although they always find a way into each other’s lives. To make matters worse, Amelia was engaged to Jax’s best friend, and this book starts after he has passed away. Not only do we get the love story between Jax and Amelia, but we also get a secondary story of trying to figure out what happened to her fiancé and how he passed. I was on the edge of my seat trying to figure out what happened between these three, and I was not disappointed. I was so happy with how this story came out and I can’t wait to see where Charity takes these characters and the next generation!
I voluntarily read and reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.
Created quite the stir
Amelia, a social media manager, and Jax, brewery owner, have spent the past six months blaming each other for the loss of the person that meant the most to each of them. As the story progresses life throws them one giant curve ball, their secrets seem bare to all, and being in love doesn’t mean they should fall. Charity Ferrell created quite the stir in Only Rivals. This new series featuring the next generation from the author’s Blue Beech and Twisted Fox series let emotions run high and low.
I received a free copy of the book from the author. I had the opportunity to review or not.
