Only Son

His father built a life without him. Eli intends to take it apart.

At twenty-two, Eli Ward has spent years imagining the man who left his mother behind. Now Gabriel Ashford has a husband, two daughters and a comfortable life in London. To Eli, it looks like proof that his father was capable of loving a family—just not his.

Eli wants him to pay.

Under the name Leo, he approaches Gabriel's husband, Vincent. Vincent has no idea who he really is, or that the attraction between them is part of a plan to destroy his marriage. For Eli, being wanted is supposed to be a means to an end.

Then he begins to want something back.

Ordinary mornings. A place beside Vincent. The chance to speak his own name and still be asked to stay. What began as revenge becomes entangled with a longing Eli can no longer control. As family secrets surface and his lies grow harder to sustain, he turns to increasingly dangerous ways of keeping hold of the man he was supposed to use.

But forcing someone to choose him may cost more than being left behind.

Set between coastal England and London, TAKU SKY's Only Son is an intimate psychological thriller about obsession, deception and the damage of an unanswered absence. It asks how far a son will go to make his father feel his pain—and what happens when the people caught in his revenge become the people he cannot bear to lose.
