Opposing Camps

Free-wheeling, easy-going Dan Macklin runs Camp Mohawk, a boys’ summer camp across the lake from Camp Chippewa, a girls’ camp run by his good friend. The two camps are friendly rivals, and Dan can’t wait to renew that rivalry as the camps open for the summer. But this year, his friend is sidelined by illness and the camp is run by Rebecca Pruitt, an administrator at a posh prep school during the year. Rebecca is most definitely not free-wheeling and easy-going.

In fact, she’s kind of a prig. But she’s a smart, beautiful prig, and Dan is determined to acclimate her to the summer-camp way of doing things. Soon enough, she’s organizing the Chippies to compete with the Hawks—and to win the competition.

There’s more at stake than summer fun, though. Campfires aren’t the only thing generating sparks between Dan and Rebecca. Who will emerge triumphant at the end of the summer—Camp Mohawk, Camp Chippewa, or two head-butting, heart-melting camp directors?
