A wonderful addition
(I received this advanced copy from the author and voluntarily reviewed it)
“There’s always someone or something to throw a wrench into life”
In this installment, Kate MacKenzie and her trusty sidekick Meg Berman are hired by Liz Tillman,a business calendar author, and her publisher,to get her place staged for a photo shoot highlighting Liz’ work with rescuing animals.
The initial interview goes well. Kate and Meg are sure they can get things ready to the publisher’s standards. Working order out of chaos is what they are good at. However, one of Liz’ former hands is causing her own chaos by claiming the she was the developer of the calendar. Her anger causes no end to the problems that arise. That is, until she is found dead in the barn at the Rescue.
Why and who become the watchwords that the two organizers have learned in other cases. And, as things get muddied in the first setup, an alternative is found to almost be better in the long run.
Will they figured out who the killer is? Why did the victim try to sabotage the Rescue? Was she in the wrong place at the wrong time? Sometimes, it takes an organizer to figure out The who, and then the why catches up.
This series was my original introduction to Ritter Ames and I have been delighted with each story she has written, including the tips and the recipes. To misquote Oliver Twist:” May I have some more please”. Highly enjoyable and recommended.
