Othello

Summer, 1971

The pine woods outside Mendenhall, Mississippi, are where secrets are buried because the earth never asks questions.

When eleven-year-old Adam Trust and his younger brother sneak into the woods for a forbidden adventure, they witness the execution of a United States congressman and one of Mississippi's most celebrated university philanthropists. By sunrise, the murders have already been solved.

The newspaper prints one story.
The churches preach another.
The courthouse prepares a third.
Only Adam knows they are all lies.

As the town rushes to condemn the sons of the notorious Pastor HillBilly Graham, seventeen-year-old farm mechanic Alfred Othello "Yella" SummersFall begins uncovering something far more dangerous than murder. Land records vanish. Families disappear from history. Powerful men seem to know the verdict before the investigation even begins.

With only Olivia Love, a young attorney determined to pursue justice instead of politics, willing to believe him, Adam is forced into a world where truth is manufactured, innocence is negotiable, and history belongs to those with the power to rewrite it.

OTHELLO is a gripping Southern Gothic conspiracy thriller blending legal suspense, historical mystery, and psychological tension into a haunting story about race, memory, corruption, and the terrifying cost of telling the truth in a town built on carefully preserved lies.
Because every town has a history.
Mendenhall has an editor.
