Following September 11, 2001, Don Pogany, an award-winning creative director, began to photograph the many flags, signs and banners in his neighborhood, as a way to remember the overwhelming support Americans showed during that uniquely sad period in our nation's history. Soon afterward, he set out to visit all 50 states and preserve in images a time when Americans stood together as one. The result was the book: OUR FLAG WAS STILL THERE 50 States In 100 Days: An American's Journey Across A Nation United.
