            Clay Denton is living on borrowed time. The only thing keeping him from a dance for the hangman is a promise he made to find a US Marshal's niece.             Josephine Myers lives on the run, never straying too far from the towns of Purgatory or Redemption. She won't leave, even though to stay means she's putting herself right into the line of fire. She's too frightened to fight back, and much too afraid to run far. Until Clay rides into her life, saving her from a terrible attack.
