Death Takes a Detour:
Abbie Grimshaw is taking a leave of absence from her job as a paramedic and is on her way home when she takes a small detour to explore one of her favorite place to hang out as a child. When she is checking out the old gravestones behind the church she runs into a man who she later figures out is a ghost and is wrapped up in a mysterious new world of paranormal when charged with the safe keeping of two young children by their recently murdered mother’s spirit. It sounds kinda out there but it’s absolutely wonderful! This book is sort of like the best parts of Supernatural and Scooby Doo. It has great serious explanations like you’d get from Supernatural but a lightheartedness that you’d find in a Scooby episode so the best of both worlds.
I absolutely love the blend of mystery, paranormal with a hint of Grimm fairy tales. Abbie’s journey of discovery is a fantastic read that will keep you entertained from start to finish. I am eager to read further adventures of Abbie and rest of the standard bearers.

Death Shifts Gears:
Abbie’s new life as a Grimm continues when her brother tells her about his boss and having missing time episodes. When they see a driverless car speeding down the road they follow and find a body. It’s the boss’s sister and the standard bearers have a new case to solve. Complicating matters is the distance between Abbie and Nica. Though she is the children’s legal guardian Nica seems to grow more distant by the day, Jimi is adjusting much better. Also Constable Ducky keeps appearing wherever Abbie is even if he’s not supposed to be there, and to top it all off there’s a seriously suspicious councilman determined to deport Nica and Jimi. Abbie and the crew have their hands full with this case.
I love the seamless blend of magical, spiritual and mystery. The standard bearers are growing stronger and closer as the dangers they face intensify. It’s just a fun book to read!

Death Smells Disaster:
It’s the anniversary of the tragic loss of Abbie’s former EMT colleagues. She plans a trip in to London to attend a memorial service and is in need of a sitter for the kids. When her friend Judith suggests her gran Abbie is delighted as she is the most powerful witch in the England. She sets out to meet Granny Chan and make sure she’s still on for sitting the kids when they discover she’s missing and her house a mess. They also meet her magical broom Comet. This is just the start of another action packed adventure for Abbie and her friends. I loved the time travel twist in this one. I really enjoy this series and am looking forward to see what happens next!.
