EXCERPT
“Don’t worry, I haven't forgotten about you... you, my beautiful Sarah, are on my mind 24/7.” He talked like he was smiling. “I will find you... and then I will have what is rightfully mine all along.”

I began to panic then. He was so close... so close. Why was I here? I couldn't understand how I had gotten here, or how I had left the safe house where Kit was currently protecting me with a contingent of handpicked officers. The scene changed, and this time I was running through the forest, running through the branches as they slapped painfully against my face. Everything was a blur of motion, and I felt like I was moving faster as each second passed. No matter how fast I moved, I knew in the back of my mind that I could never escape...

I tripped. I tried to scream but nothing came out. I fell onto my hands and my knees on the rough ground, and I saw a black mass slowly closing in. I turned around, scrambling on my hands and feet backwards, away from the menacing form that was stalking me. Two bony hands came out of the mass, reaching for me...

And then suddenly, two strong hands, not bony and now familiar to me, took me from behind. They held me. They pulled me into a body that had substance, that felt real.

“Don’t… be… afraid…”

I became calm. The sky opened up and the grey clouds parted, showing a ray of sunshine streaming through the trees. The black mass was ripped apart. All the trees were glowing, alive, and well. The ground was suddenly covered with soft green grass and I was being cushioned on it. Kit was there. And he fell down on top of me, with his face so near my lips that I could smell his aftershave. His dark, exotic good looks made me shiver... but with pleasure. And then he slowly moved down out of sight, while I looked up into the light and felt at one with the world.

I felt his hands spreading my legs open, and I closed my eyes as I felt him inserting the tip of his tongue into me….
